O’Brien Lawrence Chatelain, Jr passed away of lung cancer at his home in Johnson City, TN surrounded by family on July 18, 2024.
He was born in St. James Parish, Louisiana in 1955 to O’Brien and Thelma Lemoine Chatelain. O’Brien graduated from Bonnabel High School. He was married to Tessa Susan D’Angelo and together they raised three children. O’Brien worked in store management, construction, and was the lead mechanical technician at Campbell Soup. He dedicated his life to the provision and care of his children and grandchildren. He had a green thumb and animals loved him. He enjoyed learning about history and archeology and spending time at the beach.
O’Brien was preceded in death by his wife Tessa; parents O’Brien and Thelma; siblings Dorothy Tassin, Sylvia Scallan, Donald Chatelain, and Kellen Chatelain.
O’Brien is survived by his children Larry (Stacey) Latour, Ryan (Suzanne) Chatelain, and Abby Robinson; his grandchildren Mary and Savannah Latour; Angel, Ethan, and Sean Chatelain; Erilyn and Brennan Robinson; honorary grandchild David Brown; sisters Janis King and Juanita Chatelain; siblings-in-law Gayle Childs, Manuel D’Angelo and Cathy Cox; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:00 pm Saturday August 31, 2024 at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 141 Hwy 90, Waveland, MS. A Celebration of O’Brien’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm following the visitation at the funeral home.
