Juanita """"Nita"""" M. Myers, age 89, of Gulfport, MS died on Wednesday, July 14, 2009 in Saucier, at home with Chuck and Marie at her side.
Mrs. Myers was a native of Artesia, MS. She retired as an instructor from Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, after 34 years as a civilian Air Force worker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gulfport. She was also a member of Post 119, The American Legion, a member of Post 2539 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of BPOE Lodge 978 Ladies Auxiliary, and a life member of Unit 5, Ladies Auxiliary of Chapter 5, Disabled American Veterans. Mrs. Myers was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Naval Reserve in Pensacola, Florida during the War. She was also a member of NARFE,
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar G. and Idylette Watson McIlwain , and her husband, Charles David Myers, and her two sisters, Mamie Stockstill, and Margaret Boozer.
Survivors include hr son, Charles """"Chuck"""" D. Myers, Jr. and his Wife, Marie of Saucier and two grandchildren, Jennifer Ann and David Myers.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the funeral service on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, followed by interment at the Southern Memorial Park Cemetery in Biloxi
