Norma Shafer Gregory, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Winter Garden, Florida, at the age of 93. Born on January 22, 1932, in Jackson, Mississippi, daughter of Arthur & Kate Shafer, Norma lived a life filled with love, devotion, and commitment to her family and faith.

A proud graduate of Belhaven College, Norma exemplified the values of education and lifelong learning. She was known for her kind spirit and her dedication as a member of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach, MS, where she actively participated in church activities and served her community with grace.

Norma's warm and nurturing qualities were evident in her roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Paul) Rhodes of Winter Garden, Florida, and her son, Jeff Gregory, Jr. of Milton, Florida. Norma was deeply proud of her family, which includes two granddaughters, Amy (Jeremy) Jowers of Clermont, Florida, and Ashley (Kyle) Creeden of Winter Garden, Florida, as well as one grandson, Adam Gregory of San Antonio, Texas. Her legacy continues through her six great-grandchildren: Jaylyn (14) and Jase (11) Jowers, Madelyn (11) and Nash (9) Creeden, and Heather (11) and Mila (4) Gregory.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jeff Gregory, whose memory she carried in her heart until her final days. She was also preceded by her parents, and her two brothers, James and Jack Shafer, who were integral parts of her life.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, Mississippi. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 PM.

Norma Shafer Gregory leaves behind a rich tapestry of love, memories, and cherished moments that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she has touched. She will be profoundly missed but greatly remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
