Nora Bangs

Mrs. Nora Mae Bangs, age 93, of Gulfport, passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Bangs worked at McSmith Garment Factory and later retired from Pass Christian Industries. She was of the Baptist faith.
Her greatest love was fishing. She also enjoyed cooking and the big family get-togethers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ishmael W. Bangs; her parents, Dan and Melissa Preston; brothers, Newitt and Louie Preston; sisters, Helen Jones and Inez Rouse; and one great-grandchild, Matthew Carson Englund.
Survivors include her daughter, Ona M. """"Boots"""" Carson (Murdock); two sons, Ivan """"Sonny"""" Bangs (Marie) and Lynn Bangs (Linda); 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their special thanks to the Lakeview Nursing Center and staff.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2009 with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., all at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Burial will be in the Free Church of God Cemetery in Gulfport.
