Noel S. aÌâÅRedaÌâ Frantz, 86, surrounded by his loved ones, passed peacefully Friday evening at his home in Long Beach, MS.
Born in New Orleans, LA, he is survived by the love of his life Conchetta Benanti Frantz, his wife of 66 years, a daughter Sydney Ann Stickel (husband Fred) of Portland, Oregon, three grandsons, Philip LeBlanc (wife JoMarie) of Long Beach, Alan Rodriguez Jr. (partner Earl) of Dallas, Texas, Ronnie Kornick of Metairie, Louisiana, and a sister, Norma Johnson of Alpha, IL.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Phyllis Frantz Rodriguez, his father, George Urban Frantz, Sr., his mother, Estelle Rosseau Frantz, brothers George Urban Frantz Jr., Earl Frantz, and a sister, Delta Frantz all of New Orleans, LA.
""""Red"""" proudly served in the U.S. Navy, helping to protect his country, during both WWII and Korea. After retuning home from Korea, he began a wonderful 48 year career with Chiquita where he protected the world from bad bananas. He was loved and respected by those who knew him. He was a loyal friend and employee who knew how to bring out the best in those with whom he worked and played. """"Red"""" had a critical eye for detail in his work, and was the first to offer a story in order to lift everyoneaÌââ¢s mood, even during the most difficult of times. Many of his co-workers have said he was like a second father to them.

The family welcomes all who wish to attend the celebration of """"RedaÌââ¢s"""" life to please join them at St Thomas Catholic Church, 5557 Daugherty Rd in Long Beach on Wednesday January 27, 2010. Visitation at the church will begin at 11:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00PM. Final resting place will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
