Nina Faye Briggs

Nina Faye Briggs (Nana), age 79, of Kiln, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. 

She was born on May 25, 1945, in South Carolina to Charlee Ingram and Mattie Kolb.

Nina is survived by her five children, Sylvia Smith, William Matthews, Thomas Matthews, Nina Matthews, and Kimberly Herceg; her grandchildren, Victoria Avery, Christy LaRive, Rebecca Smith, Victor Smith, Jr., Thomas Matthews, Jr., Jessica Ralston, Brittney Ralston, Joshua Kellerman, and Ashlin Herceg; her great-grandchildren, Angel Avery, Anna King, Michelle King, Samantha Smith, Paula Smith, Emilia Smith, Bella Smith, Helen Smith, Dillon Odem, Derek Breedlove, Khristina Smith, Amanda Smith, Trey Smith, Ayden Matthews, Makayla Delaune, and Valerie Kellerman; and one great great grandchild, Camron Ivy.

Nina lived a long and amazing life. She loved taking the kids to the Dollar Store, yard sales, out to eat and many other fun adventures along the way. She also enjoyed the casinos, sipping on a white Russian, and making home-cooked meals for her family. She taught her family wonderful things and tried her best to be there when needed. She was always just a phone call away. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM at Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
