Newton aÌâÅMackaÌâ Parker, Jr., age 83, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 in Biloxi.
Mack was a long time resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He reitred from Harrison County as Road Manager. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 119, and he was a member of the St. Bernard Sportsman League. Mack was an avid hunter, fisherman and sailor. He was a 1st place winner in the National Team Pistol Shooting Competition. Mack was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Mack was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and wonderful friend. He will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Aileen Parker; his 1st wife, Marilyn Maxwell Parker; his daughter, Vera Lucille Parker Ramirez; and his brother, Dr. Marion P. Parker. Survivors include his 4 children, Thomas M. Parker (Maria), Marilyn aÌâÅBethaÌâ Parker McManus (Brian), Patricia Parker Rugg and Newton aÌâÅMackaÌâ Parker, III (Gaynell); his devoted friend, Michelle K. Kersch; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three nieces.
Friends may join the Parker family for a time of gathering and visitation on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Interment will be held at a later date at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the school fund at Fatima Catholic Church.
