The Lord sent down his Angels to take Nancy, another Angel, to her eternal home with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Ben Harry Stone, and her brother, James Reed. Her mother, Louise Reed, and father, Charles Reed, predeceased her.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Gulfport. She graduated from Gulfport High School and received a business degree from the University of Mississippi.
Nancy was the guiding light for her daughters, Nancy (Tod) Cotman, Virginia (Terry) Robinson and Kathleen (Roman) Mayer.
Nancy also was a second mother to her 10 grandchildren, Reed Bourgeois, Elizabeth (Trey) Lacy, Lawrence Bourgeois, III, Katherine Robinson, Ben (Kelsey) Robinson, Emily Robinson, William Robinson, Karin Mayer, Jane Perrin Mayer and Victoria Mayer. And to her three great grandchildren, Riley, Reese and Stone Lacy.
Nancy was the most loving and caring center of the whole family’s universe. It was frequent, but at the same time, always special to spend (lots) of time at Gammy/MiMi’s house for dinner, a snack, a cook out, a drink on the deck or just a visit. She was the person who was strong when it was required but always warm and welcoming.
Nancy took a real part in her community supporting good causes and raising money for them and giving help. Nancy loved her home and was always ready to share it with friends and a good cause.
Nancy was a member of many organizations such as the Four Seasons Garden Club, the Merry Maskers, Revelers, Heritage Antique Club, Gulf Coast Carnival Association, Chi Omega Alumni, and the Gulfport Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary.
Nancy loved her New Orleans Saints and went to almost all games. She was a season ticket holder at the first Saints game played. Later in life, the Saints honored her with two front row seats. She was the second person to be so honored.
