Nancy Smith

Monday, May 22, 2023, Nancy Steube Smith, 75, passed away peacefully at home.

Born December 24th, 1947, to Harry (Fred) and Millie Steube in Gulfport, MS; Nancy was a Mississippi State University graduate, a retiree of the Harrison County school system where she taught history for many years and a long-time resident of the Pineville community in Harrison County.

Throughout her life she enjoyed the acquisition of historical knowledge as well as arts, crafts and antiques. Always ready with a clever quip or a sly grin, Nancy loved learning about the world around her and making people smile.

Nancy was preceded by her parents; husband, Gerald W Smith and brother, Freddie (Pete) Steube.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Benvenutti (Mike); son, Michael Smith; and grandson, Trace Smith.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 26th at 10:50 at Holy Family Church on Menge Avenue in Pass Christian and visitations will begin at 10:00.

Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery shortly after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the nonprofit of your choice.
