Nancy Josephine Ladner, a beloved member of the Saucier community, passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 83. She was born on December 9, 1939, in Portland, Oregon, into a military family. Nancy's remarkable life was filled with love, creativity, and a deep devotion to her family and her faith.

One of Nancy's most important accomplishments was raising her three children. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding them, instilling in them the values that would shape their lives. Nancy's love for her family was truly unparalleled.

Alongside her role as a mother, Nancy had many artistic talents. She had a passion for writing poetry and composing music. Additionally, she showcased her creativity through various crafting projects. Her craftsmanship displayed an incredible attention to detail and brought joy to those who admired her work.

Nancy became involved in the Miss Universe pageant and served as the head chaperone for an impressive 14 years. This role allowed her to travel around the world, forging lifelong friendships along the way. Her dedication and nurturing spirit positively impacted the contestants she mentored.

Devout in her faith, Nancy played an active role within the Catholic Church throughout her life. She contributed in numerous ways, including leading CYO, teaching catechism classes, preparing children for their first communion, and directing the church choir.

Nancy Ladner was preceded in death by her parents, James Michael Beatty and Theresa Bertha Neumiller Beatty; siblings Roseanne Hensley and Michael Beatty; brother-in-law Bobby Ladner; and sister-in-law Maude Lee Cuevas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Joe David Ladner; children Kevin Ladner (Vickie), Theresa Nichols (David), and Dale Ladner; grandchildren Justin Skinner (Tiffany), Ashleigh Wheeler (John), Bryce Redix (Becca), Sean Ladner, Whitney Ladner, Emily Ladner, Blake Ladner, and Jennifer Acree (Jason); and great-grandchildren Gavin, Jayden, Mason, Kennedy, Harper, Presley, Ethan, and Natalie. Nancy is also survived by her brother Curt Beatty and a large extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church at 12:00 pm. Prior to the Mass, visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to St. James Catholic Church at 366 Cowan Road in Gulfport, Mississippi 39507.
