Nancy "Nan" Hall

d. February 11, 2016

Nancy ""Nan"" L. Hall, 77, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Gulfport. She was born in Charlottesville, VA to Frank Malcom Langford and Ruth B. Langford. She graduated from Albemarle High School and started her career as an employee with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare in the Regional Office.
While assigned in the Personnel Office she met the love of her life when he was being processed into the Regional Office from positions in other states. Shortly after their marriage Matt and Nan were transferred to San Francisco, CA until his retirement and relocated to Diamondhead where they have lived for 31 years.
In Diamondhead she discovered golf as a player and became quite involved in the Diamondhead Community Church and served as an Elder for three years and a Deacon for six years. She participated as a member of various committees including the Pastor Nominating Committee.
She loved Diamondhead from the first moment she visited the community during a vacation to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and New Orleans. On the first visit as they drove into Diamondhead they drove past the ""duck pond"" but had to wait until the ducks had crossed the road. Immediately Nan said to her husband ""this is it"". He responded by suggesting that she slow down and see the rest of the community before making such an important decision. However, she was quite impressed that a community would allow ducks to become a priority over automobiles.
Nan was preceded in death by her parents; 2 step-children, Susan Diane Wade and Gary Steven Hall.
She was survived by her husband, Matthew ""Matt"" Hall; children, Sandra Hall Lassere (John) and Michael Timothy Hall; step-daughter, Debra Hall Vincent; step-grandchildren, Kim Vincent, Keri Burke (Joey), Josh Hall (Michele) and Katie Brooke Hall; brother-in-law, Robert Dale Hall (Jacqueline), brother, Malcolm Langford (Sally).
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers anyone wishing to contribute to the memory of Nan should make donations to the Diamondhead Community Church, 5301 Diamondhead Cir, Diamondhead, MS 39525. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd, Pass Christian, MS 39571. Online tributes can be made at www.riemannfamily.com
