Nancy New Griffin, age 70 and a resident of Gulfport, went to be with the Lord January 12, 2007 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Griffin was a member of Campground Baptist Church. She enjoyed compiling family history, reading, sewing, fishing, crafting, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Griffin is preceded in death by her husband, Willard O. Griffin, her parents, Radford New & Myrtle Phillips New and her brothers, Radford New, Jr., Charlie New and infant brother Johnny.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (Frank) Farrell, Willard (Tanya) Griffin, Jr., Richard (Beverly) Griffin, Danny (Carol) Griffin, Janet (Thomas) Legg all of Gulfport, Amy (James) Dupree of Saucier and Christopher Griffin of Mechanicsburg, MS; her grandchildren, Jason Walker Griffin, Jennifer Ann Farrell, Brandon Lee Griffin, Danielle Renee Griffin Ramsey, Richard Bryan Griffin, Brett Matthew Griffin, Brad Michael Griffin, Meaghan Elizabeth Farrell, Courtney Nicole Dupree, Michaela Lynn Legg, Christopher Levi Griffin, Hannah Leona Legg, and Amanda Leigh Dupree; and her great grandchild, Chance Allen Ramsey; her brothers and sisters, Billy New, Bentonia, MS, Willie New, Madison, MS, Edna Hancock, Bentonia, MS, Freddie Savage, Ocean Springs, Wayne New, Bentonia, MS, Fay Couch, Ocean Springs, and Max New, Bentonia, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 7:00pm at Campground Baptist Church, 20577 Highway 53, Gulfport, where friends may visit two hours prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 12:30pm at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mechanicsburg, MS.
