Nadine Elizabeth Necaise Nicolls, age 69, of Saucier, passed away on June 8, 2024, in Bay St. Louis, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Liston Herbert Necaise and Dorothy Janet Necaise; and her husband, Jerold Nicolls.
Nadine is survived by her brother, Gregory H. Necaise (Margo); her cousin, Rhonda Hetherington (Edward); her goddaughter, Kimberly Suber (Jeremy); and Kimberly’s daughters, Abigail and Braylen Suber.
She was a native of Gulfport, MS, and graduated from St. John High School, she also graduated from University of South Alabama, where she earned a BS in education, and The University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her master’s in education. Nadine was Valedictorian at St. John High School, she also achieved Miss Outstanding Student and Miss St. John High School She received a four-year merit scholarship to the University of South Alabama and won Teacher of the Year.
Nadine was very involved with the community, some of her associations were, Delta Kappa Gama member since 1993 and held many offices including President and Southern District Director, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Lizana girls’ basketball coach, Lizana cheerleader sponsor, Lizana PTA USA volunteer, The Red Hat Society, and the Navy Seabee Veterans of America Auxiliary. Nadine was a long-time Saints fan. She also enjoyed glass art, shopping, craft fairs, reading, bunco, trivia, collecting jewelry, word puzzles, accessorizing outfits, and decorating for the holidays.
The family would like to thank all of those who supported Nadine through her battle including extended family, friends, clergy, and the staff of Dunbar Village.
Due to flower restrictions at the National Cemetery, Nadine requested donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry at St. Joseph Church or a Veterans Organization of your choice.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 6 - 8 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Thursday, June 13, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 11 - 1 at the church. Interment will be private in Biloxi National Cemetery.
