Myrtle Frances Martinez, ""Aunt Fran,"" died peacefully in her home on September 10, 2012, in Vancleave.
She was born in Virginia to George Daniel Walton and Nellie Shifflett Walton. She had been a resident of the Coast since 1977. Aunt Fran and her husband, Uncle Marty, enjoyed working outside in the yard together. They created a beautifully, manicured landscape.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Lionel ""Marty"" Martinez; her parents; sister, Ethel Walton Irwin; and brother, Paul Walton.
She is survived by her sister, Anne Hawkes of CA; niece, Star Garnett (Marcel) of Vancleave; nephews, Eddie Irwin (Angie) of Biloxi, and Pat Irwin (Deborah) of Wiggins; great nieces, nephews; and great- great nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Lilly Belle, Biskit, and Patriot.
Services will be private, and memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South MS, www.hssm.com, or the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.
