Myrtle Mae Strong Burke, born at Bay St Louis, MS December 10, 1929, passed away peacefully at her home in Gulfport, MS on January 7th, 2022, at 9:30 pm.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Julia Strong; her husband James O Burke Jr.; her sons Clifford and Sean; her daughter Aimee Michelle; as well as her sisters Laura and Caroline, and her brothers Nolan and Marion.
She is survived by her sons James and David; her daughters Sandra, Abbe, Danielle, and Corrie; along with her brothers Harold and Glenn; her sisters Linda, Peggy, Janet, and Ginger; and numerous grand, great- grand and great-great grandchildren
Myrtle was married to James O. Burke Jr for 68 years before his passing in 2013. Her husband was a career USAF veteran and they lived across the world including France, Germany, Texas, Alabama, Virginia, and Mississippi.
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Following visitation, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 12290 Depew Rd, Gulfport MS.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery on Wednesday January 12th, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.
