Myra Morris

Myra Catherine Allen Morris, age 85 of Pass Christian, passed away on February 28, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lillian Allen; her sons, Preston Eric Hatton and Johnny Hatton; her brothers, William "Buddy" Allen and Nathan Allen; her sisters, Doris Dwyer, Mary Cockrell, Susie Neathery, Nona Lee Allen, and Agnes Durel; her grandson, Mickey Lee; and her great granddaughter, Millie Riddle.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Morris; her son, Jesse Ray Hatton; her granddaughters, Flora Hatton and Carmen Doucet; her brother, Forrest "Fred" Allen (Jackie); her sisters, Kate Kilpatrick and Emily Smith (John); her 6 great-grandchildren; and her 9 great-great grandchildren.
Myra enjoyed baking, canning vegetables, and crocheting. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Long Beach. When she lived and attended church in Louisiana, she played the piano, organ, and the accordion. She loved to sing and had a beautiful alto voice. She spent lots of time cooking for the bereaved and bringing meals to those who were homebound.
The family is grateful to the Dixie White House nursing facility staff for their support and care, with special thanks to Heather Allen and Susan Dahl.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 4, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Allen Cemetery.
