Murnie "Polly" Lee Turan, born in Collins, MS and a resident of Gulfport, MS, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport at the age of 92. She worked many years at the Sterling Drugs (Phillips' Milk of Magnesia) Plant in Gulfport and was a member of the Mississippi City Methodist Church.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed, but in our hearts forever.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, Gideon and Mamie Loper; husband, Emory Turan; son, David Turan; sisters, Mamie "Dimple" Loper, Bobbie Dyess, Patsy Loper, Kitty Fore, and Versie Leggett; brothers, Diamond, Bo, Troy, Bill, Wendy, Leroy (Tub), and J.D. Loper; grandsons, Michael Turan and Jason Lee.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Terry Turan; grandchildren, Amanda and Bill Hansen and Ryan Turan and Taylor Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Megan and Julia Hansen, Ethan, Brooke and Chase Perkins; and many nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank Ms Lisa and the entire staff at One Magnolia Place Assisted Living for the many years of the care and consideration for the well- being of Ms Turan.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery, 3908 28th Street, Gulfport, MS, with a visitation from 9:45 until the service at the cemetery.
