Christine Murble Lee (Burr) Landry, age 92, of Ocean Springs, died of natural causes on January 25, 2008 in Ocean Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merdick and Mary Emma Burr; her husband, Rholand Patrick Landry; her infant daughter, Christine; her brothers, Cade, Timmie, and James Burr; and her sisters, Ella Mae Gabershek, Ravenell B. Bingham, and Vickie Harrell Carter.
Mrs. Landry is survived by her loving sisters, Monelle Leitz and Eva Mae P. Frederick; her loving brother, Merdick Burr, Jr and his wife, Mary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was born in Franklin County, MS on June 13, 1915. Murble was a retired nurses aide at Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital, New Orleans, LA. She loved her job of 'taking care of babies' as she always said. She married Rholand P. Landry on October 22, 1951 in New Orleans. She and Mr. Landry resided in New Orleans until they retired to Biloxi in 1980. Her favorite hobbies were fishing, gardening, photography, and traveling. Murble was often seen working on projects that were knitted or crocheted for family and friends.
During WW II, Murble worked as a welder in the shipyards of New Orleans. She and her husband were members of St Annes Catholic Church.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans.
