Felton W. Leiphardt, age 86, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.
Felton was born on June 12, 1935, in Hobart, OK. Felton is predeceased by his parents Chester and Nettie Leiphardt; a brother Charles Leiphardt; and a sister Sonja Plancheon.
He is survived by his baby sister Sandra Leiphardt; his lovely wife of 61 years, Maria Leiphardt; his children, Patricia (Ronnie) Reinike, Randy (Daphne) Leiphardt, David Leiphardt; grandchildren, Krystal Sanchez (Renato), Sabrina Leiphardt (Aldin), Bryan Jermyn (Katie), Alyssa Ladnier (John), Tyler Leiphardt; his great-grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Shylyse, Alayna, Delilah, Drayk, Zoie, Odin, Karson, Karley, Kohen; and nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In 1953, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS Wedderburn. After serving four years he transferred to the Naval Reserve in 1957. After a brief service in the Naval Reserve he then began his career in the Air Force. He was stationed in Spain, where he met his wife Maria, and the States of Washington and Texas. He served a year in Vietnam, returned to Spain and then Italy. In 1975, he retired in Biloxi, MS from the Air Force as a Master Sargent at Keesler Air Force Base. After retirement he continued to work as Civil Service in the same squadron at Keesler Air Force Base until 1995.
Felton gave his heart to the Lord in 1976 at Central Assembly of God in Biloxi. He loved his church family at Northside Assembly of God where he worshipped more than 20 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors and helping others in need.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 10:30 AM with visitation starting at 9:30 AM at Northside Assembly of God, 14901 Lemoyne Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39532. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS.
