MSgt Philip Stapp, U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 77, of Biloxi, passed away on Thursday, February 05, 2015.
He was born in Kentucky to James and Mildred Sluder Stapp. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service, most of that in Biloxi at Keesler Air Force Base. After military retirement, he worked for McDonnell Douglas Corporation in Saudi Arabia for many years. Mr. Stapp's hobbies included golfing and boating and in his later years, he remained very active while working at Home Depot and Lowe's.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Christa Pientka Stapp; and his parents.
He is survived by his children, Todd Stapp of Biloxi, Russell Stapp (Koren) of LaGrange, GA, Christopher Stapp (Kelli) of Gulfport, and Christina Robinson (Jack) of Diamondhead; brothers, Lewis Stapp and Bruce Stapp; grandchildren, Taylor Stapp, Jordan and Jenna Stapp, Chase Stapp, and Drew, Sean, and Katie Robinson; his great-granddaughter, Reese Robinson; and his faithful canine companion, Riley.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
Burial with military honors will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015, at 9:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery.
