MSgt. Samuel David Padgett, Sr., USAF, Ret., age 91 passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Gulfport.
MSgt. Padgett was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Air Corps., and U.S. Air Force. Among his major campaigns were participation in the Berlin Airlift and the Pacific theater as a pilot. Following his retirement with 22 years of honorable military service, he worked in the space program with the Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Padgett.
He is survived by his children, Samuel David Padgett, II of Gulfport and Sharon Jane Podlin; his grandchildren, Crista Padgett and Hunter Podlin; and a great-grandson, Carter Padgett.
Friends are invited to visit from 12:00 Noon until 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. The graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
