MSGT Robert L. """"Bob"""" Newell, age 74, a resident of Saucier, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2007 in Saucier.
Mr. Newell was a lifelong resident of the Coast. He retired from the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam and Korea. He was living in Hawaii during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was an I&E Tech at Dupont. He was a member of the Coast Road Runners Motorcycle Club, Joppa Shriners, Orange Grove Lodge #635, Gulfport Scottish Rites, DuPont Bass Fishing Club, and Bass Masters.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jean Newell, his parents Don and Vesper Newell, his brother Oscar Newell.
Survivors include his children Kathy Newell and Jill Carpenter both of Saucier; and 2 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
