Monette Bowen, age 70 and a resident of Hattiesburg, died Monday, April 27, 2009, in Long Beach.
Mrs. Bowen was a native and lifelong resident of Hattiesburg, and was owner and operator of Monette's Baby Boutique. She enjoyed crafting, painting, and flowers.
Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband, L. C. Bowen, daughter, Debbie Sumlin, and siblings, Calvin Loveless, Evon Loveless, Lenola Bazor, Edwin Loveless, and Thelma Turnage. Survivors include children, E.D. """"Butch"""" Burkhalter and wife, Bernice; L. B. """"Tot"""" Burkhalter and wife, Diane; and Cynthia A. Davis; siblings, Eloise Loveless, Elsie Bazor, and H. J. Loveless; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Dixie Baptist Church outside of Hattiesburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
