Monell R. Leitz, age 85, of Carrollton, KY, formerly of Ocean Springs, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 in Carrollton.
Mrs. Leitz was a native of Bude, MS and a longtime resident of the coast before moving to Carrollton, KY. She enjoyed playing BINGO and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Biloxi and attended St. Peter Lutheran Church, Carrollton, KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert B. Leitz, a daughter, Patricia Cox, her parents, Merdick and Mary Smith Burr; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
Survivors include 2 sons, Michael (Christy) Leitz and David Leitz, both of Carrollton, KY, 1 brother, Merdick Burr, Jr., Lodi, CA, 1 sister, Eva Federick, Union, MS; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 6 - 9 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, MS. The funeral service will be 12:30 Friday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation or Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
