Chief Warrant Officer Mitchell Ray Kiser, US Navy, Ret, age 66, of Gulfport, passed away on September 27, 2008 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Zornes of Firebrick, KY and A.B. Kiser of Carter County, KY.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Holleman Kiser, of Gulfport; his daughter, Lisa Kiser Scott, and her husband, Ros, of Atlanta, GA; his son, Tim Kiser, and his wife, Vera, of Atlanta; his grandson, Christopher Vargas, of Atlanta, his sister, Von Osborne, and her husband, Richard, of Firebrick, KY; his aunts, Bern Setty of Portsmouth, OH and Joy Floyd and her husband, Wade, of Dayton, OH; his uncle, Roger Lewis, and his wife, Barbara, of Portsmouth, OH; his brother in laws, Dean Holleman and his wife, Laura, Tim Holleman and his wife, Lisa, and Mike Holleman and his wife, Debbie, all of Gulfport; and his sister in law, Amy Angel, and her husband, Michael Martin of Gulfport.
Mitch was born in Grayson, Kentucky on May 25, 1942. He was a graduate of Carter High School, Carter City, KY in 1960. Mitch graduated from Ohio University, Athens, OH in 1970 with a BBA and Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH in 1976 with a MBA.
He was a member of Bayou View Baptist Church. He entered the US Army in 1961 and after a tour in Vietnam in 1963, he joined the US Navy Reserve where he retired as Chief Warrant Officer 04 in 1997. He was a Special Agent with the Inspector General's Office in Atlanta, GA and retired in 1999.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #769, Portsmouth, OH, A & A Scottish Rite, Atlanta, GA as a 32nd degree Mason, the Naval Reserve Association, the American Legion, the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, the Association of Federal Investigators, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.
The family wishes to give a very special thanks to the staff at Greenbriar Nursing Home; Memorial Hospital at Gulfport (Brea and crew of 4-C); Canon Hospice Care; Caregivers and friends, Oma Odom and Melba Collier; and TLC Home Health Care, Rita, Shaun, and Frank.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Noon at the Bayou View Baptist Church, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial with full military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
