Milton Dye Henley, 80, of McHenry, passed away on July 21, 2023, at Memorial Hospital of Stone County. He was born on November 17, 1942, in Olive Branch, MS, one of three children to parents William Alvin and Lizzie Mae (Bledsoe) Henley.
Milton later moved to Bond, MS and then to Saucier, MS, where he met the love of his life, Linda Fay Shavers. In 1964, Milton enlisted in the Army and served one year in Korea. Milton returned from Korea in 1965, married Linda, and then served his final two years of military service in Louisville, Kentucky. Milton and Linda moved back to the coast, eventually residing in Bay St. Louis for over 36 years. In 2006, Milton retired from Coast Electric after 38 years of service. Following his retirement, Milton moved his family to McHenry, MS, where he resided at his time of passing. Milton was a hard worker and loved building projects. He loved to cut up, joke, and pick back and forth with those he loved. He also enjoyed caring for his puppies and chickens. Milton was a member of Saucier Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and fellowshipping with his Church family.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, William Alvin and Lizzie Mae Henley, his brothers, Jerry Henley of Bay St. Louis and James Henley of Saucier; sister‐in‐law, Diane Henley of McHenry; and a grandson James Michael Baker of Bay St. Louis.
Left to cherish Milton's memories are his wife of fifty‐seven years, Linda; their daughters, Stacy Henley, and Tina Ortiz of McHenry; his grandsons, Zach Baker, Ryan Baker, and Eric Ortiz of McHenry; his sister, Georgia Ann Henley of McHenry; his brothers, Richard Shavers (Vanessa) of McHenry and Herbert Gail Shavers (Jeannie) of Saucier; along with numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10-11 AM followed by funeral service at 11 AM at Saucier Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, in Saucier, MS. Burial will be at Saucier Cemetery.
