Mildred M. Burnett, age 73, of Gulfport, died Friday, April 11, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Burnett was a native and former resident of Pelham, Alabama and had been a long-time resident of Gulfport. She was an avid collector of all antiques, making her house like a museum. She was also a die-hard University of Alabama and Atlanta Braves fan.
She was preceded in death by her father, John C. Winfrey; mother, Anna Ray Denham; husband, F.C. Burnett; son, Steve Burnett; and brother, John C. Winfrey, Jr.
Survivors include two sisters, Betty Winfrey of Gulfport, and Billie Gentry of Pelham, Alabama; granddaughter, Raven Burnett of Birmingham and her mother, Shirley of Pelham; her adopted son, Robert Mackley; and numerous other family members.
Mrs. Burnett was sent from the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Gulfport to Charter Funeral Home, Calera, Alabama for services. Visitation in Alabama will be Monday from 6-8 p.m., with the service on Tuesday at 11 a.m., followed by burial in Pelham City Cemetery. You may sign the guestbook at www.riemannfamily.com.
