Michelle Braun, a beloved resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was born on September 15, 1944, in Kansas. Michelle was known for her kind heart, compassionate nature, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Michelle made a significant impact as a Counselor at Women in Community Service. Through her work in this role, she touched the lives of many individuals and provided them with much-needed support and guidance. Michelle's commitment to helping others was truly commendable, and her contributions will be remembered by all those she assisted.
Michelle had an impressive educational journey. After graduating from high school, she focused on raising her three children. However, her thirst for knowledge led her back to academia later in life. Michelle pursued an Associate's Degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, showcasing her determination and love for learning.
One aspect of Michelle's life that brought her immense joy was her involvement in various hobbies and interests. She had a passion for traveling and exploring new destinations. Michelle cherished the moments spent playing cards with her loved ones and valued the quality time she shared with family and friends. She actively participated in the local Red Hats women's group, where she fostered deep friendships and created lasting memories. Additionally, Michelle loved her cats, and therefore found fulfillment in volunteering at the local animal shelter, demonstrating her compassion for animals. Her dedication to caring for those in need extended not only to people but also to our furry friends.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, Michelle adored planning family trips and creating unforgettable experiences for those she held dear. She considered spending time with her loved ones as the greatest treasure of all. Her warmth and love enveloped every family gathering, creating an atmosphere of love and togetherness.
Michelle was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her involvement within the church community allowed her to deepen her spiritual connection while also finding solace and support from fellow churchgoers. Michelle's faith was an integral part of her life, providing her with strength during both joyous and challenging times.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Jack Wells and Agnes Strothman; her son, Ronald Walker, Jr. and her husband, Leo Braun.
Michelle will forever be remembered as a loving wife, cherished mother, doting grandmother, and trusted friend. She leaves behind a legacy in the hearts of her surviving family members and friends. Her children, Richard Walker (Cipriana) of Gulfport, and Leanne Schneider (Jeff) of Houston, TX, were blessed to have her as their devoted mother.
In addition to her immediate family, Michelle also leaves behind grandchildren. Ricky Walker and Kristina Walker of Atlanta, Georgia, Caimen Schneider and Camille Schneider of Houston, Texas, Tito Morales (Aleksandra) of Atlanta, Georgia, Paula Lyle Morales (Matt Lyle) of Sydney, Australia, and Cristian Morales of Houston, Texas were privileged to have had Michelle's love and guidance in their lives. Furthermore, while cherishing the bond she shared with her great-grandchildren, Tony Morales and Natalie Morales, Michelle was eagerly awaiting the arrival of two additional great-grandchildren.
Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects to Michelle at the visitation on Friday, October 13 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 12290 Depew Road in Gulfport. Following the visitation, Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the same location from 4:00 PM. The graveside service will then take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
