Mrs. Michele M. Grimes, age 71, passed away on December 21, 2020, at her home in Gulfport, MS.

Michele was born December 15, 1949, in Beardstown, IL, the daughter of Millicent Parlier Booton and the late John Donnelly Booton, who passed away on March 11, 1984. She was a graduate of both Beardstown High School Class of 1968 and Atlantic Airline School in 1969. She worked in the commercial shipping division of Atlantic Airlines for a number of years. She married Michael Grimes on November 8, 1969, and he passed away on January 16, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Sean M. Booton, who passed away on March 3, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her aunt, Mary Mitchell of Sprigfield, IL and her uncle, Joseph Parlier of Rockport, TX.

Michele is survived by her son, Senior Chief (Ret.) M. Brent Grimes, and his wife Tessa; one granddaughter, Hunter D. Grimes all of Gulfport, MS; mother, Millicent Booton of Beardstown, IL; one Brother, Michael Booton, and his wife Joyce of Springfield, IL; one great-nephew, Benjamin Booton of Belgium; one aunt, Ilene Divjak of Auburn, IL, and seven cousins.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to do so, may make memorial donations to the Stan Korsemeyer Science Education Fund at the Beardstown High School or St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery, C/O Kaye (Clarey) Hardwick, or to the donor’s choice.

RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, is assisting the family locally. Additional services and burial at St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery will follow at a later date with Colwell Memorial Funeral Home, 515 South State Street, Beardstown, IL 62618 in charge of arrangements.
