Michael Perry ""Mike"" Wingo, age 58, resident of Huntsville, AL and formerly of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014.
Mike was born in Jackson and raised in Gulfport, where he graduated from Gulfport East High School. While living in Gulfport, he was a member of Bayou View Baptist Church. He attended Mississippi State University and went to work in the field of avionics. He worked for DynCorp and L3 in Huntsville. His passion for flying began at an early age, receiving his pilot's license at age 14. He was a member of several remote controlled airplane clubs, recently being involved in Rocket City R/C.
He is survived by his children, Courtney Clark (Jon-Micheal) of TX, and Austin Wingo (DeAnna) of GA; his parents, Perry and Jewel Wingo from Gulfport, MS; his sister, Donna Addison (Jimmy) of Gulfport; an expected grandson, Joseph Wheeler Clark; and niece and nephew, Jordan and Taylor Addison.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport from 1-2pm. A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Chapel Mausoleum, Carl Leggett Rd., Gulfport.
