Michael David Wainwright

Michael David Wainwright, age 66, and resident of Poplarville, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Albert Wainwright and Mary Margaret Wainwright; and his brother, Jeffrey Wainwright.
Mr. Wainwright is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Ann Marie Wainwright, of the Steep Hollow Community; his children, Steven Joseph ""Joey"" Wainwright of Salt Lake City, Danielle Marie Hoda and her husband Danny of Kiln, and Mary Elizabeth Smith and her husband Josh of Poplarville; his siblings, Jennifer Browning and her husband Robert of Florence, George D. Wainwright of Delisle, and James Wainwright and his wife Janet of Bayou LaCroix; his grandchildren, Tricia Shaw, Kearston Shaw, Tyler Smith, Preston Smith, Aiden Smith, Lisa Wainwright, and Laura Ladner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was an accomplished shrimper and an avid fisherman. Mr. Wainwright loved people and enjoyed meeting his many friends at the Menge Avenue flea market where he bought and sold antiques. He never met a stranger and always helped those in need. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was most happy spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
