Michael William Peters passed away gently into the arms of our Lord on April 3, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a long, brave battle with cancer.
Mike was born on August 20, 1947. As the eldest of six children of a career Air Force father, Mike lived his childhood in many parts of the county and world. His outgoing personality and genuine love of people enabled him to make lifelong friends in many places, but his heart and soul were always with his family and his friends from his beloved Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Mike is survived by many adoring family members. His loving daughter, Stephanie Peters Emmer, her husband Stephen Emmer; and their children, Bailey, Sophie and Georgia, who all made sure that Mikes time battling cancer was as comfortable as possible, and as full of love and joy as anyone could hope for. Mike was also survived by his children, Michael, Alexandra, Thomas and Justice for whom he had so much love and pride; his parents, Joseph and Esther Peters; his sister, Karen McCullars (and her husband Mike); his brothers, Richard (Barbara), Allen (Rose), Jeff (Kathy), and Steve (Jennifer) Peters; many cousins, and so many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews who dearly loved their Uncle Mike of ""Pops"".
Mike was a proud graduate of USM, who spent his first career in Management positions at Sears in Biloxi and his second as the owner/mangers of Entre Computer Centers in Gulfport and Mobile. Mike loved spending time with his family and friends at his farm in Harrison County. He was happiest on a cool, sunny day with a house full of loved ones and good food, holding a baby in his loving arms, watching the horses gallop in the field, and the kids ride four wheelers and catch catfish from the pond. Mike created wonderful memories for generations of family and friends and will live forever in their hearts. Mikes' joy was infectious and he would glow with love and pride when watching a child smile, take a first steps, rid a house for the first time or catch their first fish from his pond. He will be missed and fondly remembered by many.
