Michael Reginald Olcott

Michael Reginald Olcott, age 63 of Long Beach, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

He was a native of Cheboygan, MI and graduated from Cheboygan High School. He loved the Gulf Coast and came here in 1982 at the age of 20. Mike remained here and never looked back.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Ellen Olcott.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mildred “Millie” Zeigler Olcott; his children, Melanie Zeigler Nobles (Terry Metz) of Jonesboro, AR and David Zeigler (Danielle) of Long Beach; his siblings, Kay Olcott of Ann Arbor, MI, Steve Olcott, of Maryland, and Cynthia Perkins (Todd) of Ann Arbor, MI; and his grandchildren, Braeden Flynn and Jaxon Nobles of Jonesboro, AR, Charlotte Zeigler of Long Beach, MS, and Adilynn and Liam Ladner of Saucier.

Mike was employed in shipbuilding for over 36 years. He was proud of the ships they built and launched.

He enjoyed watching sports with his family and was an avid fan of Mississippi State Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers. Mike especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren making many happy memories. Mike also loved Mardi Gras and was a member of the Krewe of Friends.

Mike will be especially missed by his wife, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Friday, October 18, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.
