Michael G. Mate, Jr. age 28, of Pass Christian, MS passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 in Gulfport.
Michael was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian, and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He was a mechanic the Long Beach Auto Auction and was a country boy at heart. He enjoyed Nascar and hunting.
Michael was preceded in death by his maternal Grandfather, George Steady. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Sue Mate of Pass Christian; his children, Hunter Michael Mate and his mother Natalie Allen, and Grace Lynne Mate; siblings, Jonathan """"J-Bird"""" Mate and Kristie Lynne Mate both of Pass Christian; grandparents, Stephen and Alice Mate of Long Beach, and Betty Davis of Gulfport; uncles and aunts, George and Belinda Mate, Stephen Mate, Jr., Steven Steady, Donna Chauvin, Joy Yates, and Denise Seguin; his wife Shelia Mate and her children, Randy and Drake Swafford, and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2008 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd., Pass Christian, with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
