Mike was a native of Pass Christian and was a graduate of Pass Christian High School. He served in the Army National Guard where he served as a medic. He worked as a meat cutter at A & P for 26 years and Delchamps for 6 years. Mike enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and handing out rosary beads and bibles to everyone he met. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 4898.

Before Mike had to stop driving, he was a servant. He volunteered at Feed My Sheep where he spent his time helping the homeless and driving them to doctor's appointments and job interviews. He would feed them and would always listen to their stories. He spent countless hours scouring Goodwill and the Salvation Army looking for baby items to take to the Morning Star Pregnancy Center. He would buy used bikes to distribute in low income neighborhoods and gave a place to stay more than once to someone in need.
