With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Micah Colin Hester, who departed this life on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the age of thirty-nine (39). Micah's journey ended after many years surrounded by family members who loved him.
Micah was born to Deborah Kay Hester, who preceded him in death on January 19, 2024. Deborah's love and dedication to her family set a strong foundation for Micah's life. Her spirit and values continued to guide him throughout his days.
Micah was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his son, Iver Elliot Hester; his siblings, Mason Coe Hester and Miles Corey Hester; his father, Michael Clark Hester; and a score of extended family and friends who loved him dearly. Each of these individuals holds indelible memories of Micah's passion, humor, unique character, and unwavering loyalty.
A person who struggled mightily with a myriad illnesses, Micah fought hard not to burden those around him. Micah was an artist. Whether he was shaping clay, constructing robotic figures, practicing entomology, or drawing, he did so with enthusiasm and dedication. And despite his Sisyphean battles he still brought joy into the lives of others and new perspectives for others to learn from.
In addition to being an artist he was an accomplished airship pilot. During the war to protect the planet, Micah and his crew aboard the Highwind fought against and defeated both Emerald and Ruby Weapon along with the ultimate threat to Gaia, Sephiroth (セフィロス).
Though Micah's time with us was far too short, the impact he made on the planet and those around him will endure. The members of FOXHOUND, the terrorist organization he demolished, certainly will not forget the bite of his H&K Mk 23 Mod 0 (SOCOM).
A celebration of Micah's life, starting from 5:30 p.m. will be held on July 10th, 2024 at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Micah's memory to Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA).
