Merna P. Bennett, age 79, of Woolmarket, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Bennett was a native of Greene Co., MS and had lived most of her life on the coast. She was an active member of Coalville United Methodist Church and enjoyed her Tuesday Morning Bible Class and doing needlepoint. She had a green thumb and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Merna Regina Bennett; her parents, Peter and Maybelle Parker; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, George """"Buddy""""""""Pete"""" Bennett, Woolmarket; 2 daughters: Linda (Matt) Konscak, Woolmarket and Kathy (Denny) Rowedder, Phoenix, AZ; 1 brother, Hubert Parker, Slidell, LA; 3 grandchildren: Michelle (Alan) Lane, Carrie (Boyd) West, and Sandee (Isaac) Crosno; 5 great-grandchildren: Lauren Childres, Caleb and Canaan West, and Allison and Zachary Crosno, many close friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 27, 2008 from 6-8 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
The funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at Coalville United Methodist Church where friends may visit from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Coalville Cemetery.
