Melvin Slatten

Melvin Slatten, age 87, a resident of Biloxi, MS for the past sixteen years, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Marilyn Niewind Slatten and her family of Biloxi, as well as, his other relatives in Tennessee.

As a Tennessee native, Melvin enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He spent many years raising cattle in the mountains of Tennessee. Melvin was an animal lover, and not always just your average dogs or cats but one could even find peacocks casually strolling through his yard.

Though he no longer had a mountain to tend to after moving to Mississippi, Melvin could still always be found outside watering one of his many gardens or tinkering in his tool shed.
