Melvin J. Hebert, Sr. of Kiln, MS died Monday, July 02, 2007 peacefully at his home in Kiln, MS.
Mr. Hebert was born in Franklin, LA on September 16, 1930 and moved to Kiln, which he considered home in 1959 with his wife, Anita. He retired in 1992 from Exxon after 40 years in the oil fields. After retirement he loved to spend his days working on his farm with his son Melvin, Jr. """"Bubba"""" and daughter Pat """"Frog"""". """"Mel"""" was a devoted husband and loving father and friend to many. His life was an example for all to shadow and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Mr. Hebert was preceded in death by his parents Junius and Gracie Hebert of Franklin, LA.
Survivors included his wife of 58 years Anita Hebert, his only son, Melvin J. Hebert, Jr. (Bubba), and five daughters, Dr. Deborah Moran and husband Clyde, Trudy Cuevas and husband Gary, Cindy Havard and husband Mitchell, Pat Ladner and husband Wade, Anne Ladner and husband Neal. Twelve grandchildren: Brent Necaise, Haliegh Cuevas, Shawntel May, Lisa Moran, Mitch Havard, Chip Moran, Laci' Krick, Taylor Ladner, Lauren Ladner, Jordan Ladner, Dillon Ladner, and Nisa Ladner. Ten great-grandchildren: Britney, Chance, Destiny, Grace, Haden, Kolby, Morgan, Emma, Camron, and Colin. Brothers Jay and Jackie Hebert and one sister Grace Ann Boudreaux all of Franklin, LA.
A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in White Cypress, MS at 3:00 p.m. where friends may visit three hours prior to the Mass. Interment will follow at Mel-A-Nita Ranch Cemetery in Kiln, MS.
