Melvin R. Allison, age 71, of Gulfport, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 in Gulfport.
Mr. Allison was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for 20 years with Sears, then retired from EMRO Marketing Company. Mr. Allison was a Mason PM, a member of the Belles and Buoys Square Dance Club and was an avid bowler at Triangle Lanes. He was a member of Burton Memorial United Methodist Church in Gulfport, where is sang in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lura Mae Allison; father, Thelbert H. Allison; and brother, Glen Allison.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Audrey Allison; his daughter, Debra Allison; his granddaughter, Ashleigh Allison-Foss; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Burton Memorial UMC, 2419 22nd Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 HIGHWAY 49 in Gulfport. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Gardens.
