Melveen Deloris Jackson, age 85, and a resident of Biloxi, passed away on August 23, 2020.
Mrs. Jackson was a native of Norfolk, Virginia and a resident of Biloxi at the time of her passing. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk and she attended Norfolk State University. Mrs. Jackson will be remembered as the ultimate homemaker and a caregiver; she was everyone's mom and Jehovah's friend. As one of Jehovah witnesses she was a christian volunteer, and also loved arts and crafts.
Although the family often moved, Mom never met a stranger. She always gave of her time and attention to anyone who needed it. She never neglected her Spiritual routine, which in turn, allowed her to help others in many different ways. She was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Mom was convinced of Jehovah God's promise of the resurrection (Job 14: 14,15). And the hope of living forever here on earth in Paradise (Luke 23, 43).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Melvin Green and Anna Estelle Green of Norfolk, VA; her siblings, Betty Whitehurst, Audrey Newsome, Milton M. Green and Theodore R. Green. Survivors include her spouse of 66 years, Gordon M. Jackson; her children, Gordon M. Jackson, Jr., Reginald T. Jackson, Robert M. Jackson, Kenneth D. Jackson and wife, Karen M. Jackson, Constance L. Jackson, Jackson J. Jackson, Sharise L. Harper and husband, Terry L. Harper, and Talia L. Jackson; her siblings, Vivian Shepard, Constance Hawkins, Margaret Godsey and Edward Green; her 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will conduct their own Memorial Service via Zoom this Saturday, September 5th at 1:00 p.m. (CST).
