Melba Elaine Barrett, age 71, passed away on December 19, 2020 in Gulfport, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ophelia Bond; and two brothers, Billy Evans and Charlie Bond Jr..
Left behind to cherish her memory include her two sons, Phillip Stegall and his wife Amanda of Saucier, Holden Stegall and his wife Brandi of Gulfport/ Silver Run; four grandchildren, Addison, Harris, Ava Louise and Evelyn; two sisters, Myrtle Saucier and her husband Charles of Gulfport, Mary Eaves of Biloxi; and many loved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Melba attended Harrison Central High School and William Cary University, where she earned her teaching degree. She was a retired teacher for Harrison County School System, and worked at Orange Grove and North Gulfport. In her free time she enjoyed oil and watercolor painting. She has been an active member of Campground Baptist Church for a number of years and her grandchildren were one of the biggest joys in her life.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Campground Baptist Church, Gulfport with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
