Mrs. Maxine N. Brady, age 93, former resident of Biloxi, MS, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 26, 2010, from Moss Point, MS.
Mrs. Brady was born in Ridgely, TN to Lexi Neel and Ruth Campbell Neel Smith. She worked as a telephone operator before marrying. After rearing her family, she went back to work and eventually retired from South Central Bell as Night Chief Operator in Gulfport. During her retirement, she developed a love for painting, china painting, and sewing. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 388 in Biloxi, where she served as Grand Worthy Matron in 1981, among holding other offices. She was a Baptist Sunday School teacher all her life, having taught in Memphis and in Biloxi at Trinity Baptist and First Baptist. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by husband, William T. Brady; parents; siblings, George Smith, James Smith, Harry Smith, and Ruth Smith Drumm.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwen Brady Simmons of Daphne (Dr. Samuel Simmons); grandson, Matthew Forbish of Los Angeles, CA; siblings, Marvin Smith of Memphis and Alvin Smith and wife Charlotte of Texas; and the angels from Tender Loving Care Assisted Living in Moss Point, MS.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS, at 6 p.m. Friends may visit two hours prior to services.
Burial will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
