Maureen McCormick Wagner

July 2, 1969 — December 8, 2010

Maureen McCormick Wagner, 41, formerly of Memphis and Chattanooga, TN, residing with her parents in Biloxi, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010.
Maureen was born in Lynn, MA on July 2, 1969. She graduated from High School for the Performing Arts in 1987. She received a full scholarship and attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA for two years. She then graduated from the University of Memphis in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science degree.
Maureen worked at WKNO Public Broadcasting in Memphis as a morning news anchor, producer, and in sales. She then went on to work for WTCI Public Broadcasting in Chattanooga as the VP of Fund Raising, and her last job was at Covista Communications as a Sales Manager in Chattanooga.
She was a member of various boards in Memphis and Chattanooga supporting women in business and Cancer research.
She moved to Biloxi in August of 2010 to continue the battle against cancer with help and support of her parents.
She remained active in church activities everywhere she lived.
Maureen leaves behind her daughter, Valerie Wagner, 8 years old, of Biloxi; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger McCormick of Biloxi, brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Matt McCormick of Atoka, TN; and nephew, Ian Wells of Atoka, TN.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Wall and staff, the nurses in ICU, and the nurses on the 3rd floor in Oncology for the great care given to her in the last several weeks. Donations can be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, www.ovarian.org.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior, Monday, December 13, 2010 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERLA HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi.
Interment will take place at a later date.
