During her 30 year career she was very proud to have had the opportunity to work and serve with the great men and women of the United States Armed Forces during W.W.II, Korea, and Vietnam eras.
Jo will be remembered in her neighborhood for having a yard full of beautiful roses, camellias, azaleas, and crepe myrtles, often working late into the evening by the light of a street light.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and Georgia Horn, husband Thomas Swan Edwards, sisters Willie G. McCorkle and Louise Villanueva, brother Irvin Horn, great niece Sharon Lewis, and faithful pets Gretchen and Whiskers.
Jo is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws Ron and Brenda Edwards of D'Iberville, Thomas and Penny Edwards of Biloxi, sister Marie Timlick of Lawndale, CA, grandson Timothy Edwards, two great-grandsons, Peyton and Robert Edwards, along with their mother Cameron of Fredricksburg, VA, nieces: Dolly Villanueva, Anita Lewis, Rosie Aylward, her husband Richard, great nieces: Theresa Aylward, Cindy Lewis, great nephew Richie Aylward, his finance, Traci, and dear friends Ellen Turner, Norma Richards, Catherine Conner of Biloxi MS, and Frances Kay Edwards of Kittrell, NC.
Jo also leaves the special ladies and men in her heart who were her health care providers from SAAD Home Health Care: Loni, JoAnn and Vicki; also Dr. Lydia Latour, Susan, and Lady; and finally Dr. Robert Terrell, Dr. Richard Smith, and Dr. Justin Cummings, as well as the outstanding staffs at Keesler Medical Center and Biloxi Regional Hospital, with final support from Odyssey Hospice. The family is grateful to you all.
A graveside service will be held at 10am Tuesday, 9-1-09 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
A celebration of Jo's life will be held at her favorite restaurant, Aunt Jenny's Catfish House, at a later date.
