Mary "Helen" Margiotta

Mary “Helen” Margiotta, age 81, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, April 23, 2020.

Our beloved sister and aunt is survived by her sisters, Marie (Sam) Ladner, Elsie (Gail) Head, and Judy Necaise; her sister-in-law, Rose Mary Ladner; 8 nephews, Elvert “Junior” (Geraldine) Necaise, Kenny (Diane) Necaise, Averil (Kathy) Necaise, Pat (Paulette) Necaise, Charles Necaise, Chris Head, Justin Necaise, and Joel Necaise; 4 nieces, Chasity Peterson, Jessica Taylor, Erin Haynes and Jenna Necaise; and many Great, Great-Great, and Great-Great-Great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Frank Margiotta; her parents, Cloda and Sidonia Necaise; her brothers, Alvin Necaise, Elvert “Bud” Necaise, James “Red” Necaise, C.J. Necaise, and Jimmy Dale Necaise; and her beloved best friend for life, Betty Jean Hoda.

She graduated from Mississippi School for the Deaf, Jackson, Mississippi, Virginia School for the Deaf, Staunton, Virginia and Gallaudet College, Washington D.C. She worked as a Computer Operator for 25 years at the Sun Herald.

She was very involved in various organizations, including the Gulfport Club for the Deaf where she served 3 terms as President & 2 terms as Secretary and also with the Mississippi Association of the Deaf. She was named to the Mississippi School for the Deaf Hall of Fame for Special Events; and she received the Quota Club Award.

Her hobbies included crocheting, working outdoors, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with her friends and family.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances of Covid 19, there be a private interment at Evergreen Cemetery. There is a recording of the service below this obituary.
