Mary "Fran" Melton

Fran Melton, age 79, of Biloxi, passed away on July 9, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her husband, MSgt Bill Melton; her parents, Sammie and Ludie Sanders; her siblings, LK Sanders, Sammie Sanders, Jr., and Royce Sanders.

Survivors include her 2 children, Jeff Melton (Leslie) and Kathy Hill (Marshall); her siblings, Sara Lee, Louie Sanders (Jenny), Myrtle Miller (Art), and Barbara Davis; grandchildren, Matt Hill (Jada), Josh Melton, Shawnessy Beverin (Michael), Sami Rockholt (Randy), and Ashley Hill (Nolan Mann); great-children, Brooks Hill, and Kamdyn and Evie Young; and other relatives and friends.

She was a native of Milledgeville, GA and was a longtime resident of the coast. She was a graduate of William Carey University with a BSN degree and later earned a master's degree from USM. She worked at military hospitals and later worked at the Biloxi VA as a nurse instructor. She enjoyed visiting the casinos, watching baseball, tennis, working puzzles, and treating her family with dinners.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their loving care and concern for Mrs. Melton.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 10 - 11 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The funeral service will be at 11 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
