Mrs. Mary Elizabeth """"Beth"""" McCullough Ward, age 66, resident of Long Beach, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2009, with her family by her side.
Mrs. Ward was born in McComb, MS, and lived in Ruth, MS, until she was 6 years old. She then lived in Wiggins, where she went to school, and later met and married her husband, C. W. Ward, Jr. After C. W. joined the US Air Force, they started their family and moved with his career until settling in Long Beach. She was a prosperous artist, earning her college degree from Louisiana College in Pineville, LA. Her creativity was very broad, including painting, sculpting, and music. Although her family wouldn't join her, she enjoyed scuba diving. Her life was full and she will be missed by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, MSgt C. W. Ward, Jr., USAF Retired; parents, Russell McCullough and Mary Bardwell Lee.
She is survived by her children, Peggy Brown of Long Beach, Michael Ward of Louisiana, and Sandra Ladner of Gulfport, and Christopher Ward of Austin, TX; brother, Mac McCullough of Ocean Springs; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, where friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 7, 2009, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, at 10:30 a.m., where friends may visit one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
