Mary Olive Wales, age 97, a resident of Long Beach and a former resident of Hawthorne, CA, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008, in Gulfport.
She was born September 27, 1911, in Lucasville, OH, and moved to California in 1960 where she resided until October 2004.
Mrs. Wales was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Carrie Young; one brother, Vancil Young; three sisters, Vivian Stone, Ginny Riggs, and Emogene Spradlin; and one great-grandson, Bryan K. Young II.
She is survived by a son, George L. Young (Clara); three grandsons, Ricky, Mark, (Rebecca), and Bryan Young, all of Long Beach; seven great-grandsons, Mark II and Timothy, in Ohio; Joshua, of Fort Benning, GA; Derek, Daniel, Mason, and Walker, all of Long Beach; one great-great-granddaughter, Emily, of Georgia; three sisters, Gertrude Rayburn, Catherine Phipps, both of Franklin, KY; and Lorraine Young, of Dayton, OH.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 25, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. Interment will follow at the Long Beach City Cemetery.
