Mary Evelyn Torries, age 70, of Ocean Springs, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Torries was a native of Hattiesburg and a long-time resident of Ocean Springs. She worked for the D'Iberville Post Office and was a bus driver for St. Martin Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Harold J. Torries; five children, Nancy Henry (Ronnie), Harold John Torries, Jr. (Janet), Jeffrey Torries (Loraine), Joell Slifko (Chris), and Jarrod Torries (Jennifer); 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Paul Snider, Barbara Neal and Robert Bratcher.
Friends are invited to join the Torries family for visitation tonight, Monday, August 18, 2008 from 6 unitl 9 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 North, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel officated by Dr. Argile Smith, followed by burial in Torries Cemetery.
